
Chinese Whisper
Ingredients:
3 slices of ginger
60 ml vodka
30 ml lychee liqueur
15 ml freshly squeezed lime juice
7.5 ml ginger syrup (see instructions below)
Method:
Muddle the ginger in a cocktail shaker, add ice and all the ingredients. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds and serve in a martini glass.
Mandarin Gin Ginger
Ingredients:
3 slices of ginger
60 ml gin
20 ml lychee liqueur
20 ml freshly squeezed satsuma juice
10 ml fresh lime juice
7.5 ml ginger syrup (see instructions below)
Method: as above
Ginger Syrup
Ingredients:
200g granulated sugar
175 ml water
100g peeled ginger
Method:
- Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over a gentle heat, stirring until dissolved.
- Add the ginger and continue to heat bringing the syrup to a gentle boil.
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Take the saucepan of the heat and allow the syrup to cool.
- Strain the syrup into air tight jars and use in your cocktails; will keep for up to two weeks refrigerated.
